BIOGRAPHY

Celmira Luzardo was a Colombian film, theater and television actress, born on March 31, 1952 in the city of Bogotá. Recognized for participating in productions such as “Yo soy Betty, la fea”, “La potra zaina”, “La mujer delpresident”, “Francisco el mathematician”, among others.

He initially began studying engineering, but decided not to continue it to pursue his true passion, which was the performing arts. For this reason, he decided to go live in London where he began to study editing and editing at The National Film Institute, then he studied film at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografía in Italy, where he received classes from Nobel Prize winner Gabriel García Márquez.

Once he finished his studies he returned to Colombia where he participated in a large number of highly successful productions both on television and in film.

Celmira was the sister of the also famous actress Consuelo Luzardo y del director de cine Julio Luzardo. A los 19 años se casó con Juan Escobar López sobrino del expresidente Alfonso López Mikelsen, a quien en 1981 asesinaron de un disparo en la espalda cuando un celador los atacó a ambos, ella lo considero el amor de su vida. Se caso por segunda vez con el también actor Marco Canevari, con quien tuvo una hija, Laura Canevari.

In 2003 he retired from acting and decided to go live on the islands of San Andrés, on March 12, 2014 Luzardo died after fighting stomach cancer detected in 2011, his ashes were scattered in the sea of 7 colors of the archipelago of San Andrés and Providencia.
