According to what the inhabitants of Bagado, a small town in Chocó Department, one morning blood began to rain on their small hamlet.
According to the residents, on the morning of Wednesday, July 30, 2008, blood began to rain in their town. Surprised by the event, the residents collected samples of that rain; however, they say that shortly after it turned back into water.

Jhony Milton Córdoba was the priest of Bagadó at that time, the parish priest said that the residents called him worried about that event, but he could not reach the place due to the lack of fuel at that moment, however, he commented that he did believe in the testimonies of his parishioners and attributed that act to a divine announcement to review the way of life that the inhabitants were leading at that time, "I believe that it is a call from God so that we begin to see that we are living very badly," he expressed. the priest before the press.
Some of the samples of the liquid were taken to the bacteriologist Luisa Lloreda who was able to verify that there was a sample of blood mixed with the water, however, it could not be determined if it was human or animal blood.
The event sparked all kinds of theories, some affirmed facts such as that it was a divine warning against abortion, others claimed that it was the announcement of the apocalypse because there are biblical passages where this type of rain is mentioned.

Some meteorology experts affirmed that in fact such a phenomenon could have happened, and that in fact it has happened in other places on the planet, such as in India, Egypt and Russia, the experts affirmed that there are natural phenomena such as waterspouts that rise from the sea , rivers or large lakes, these waterspouts absorb (suck) water and along with it they also suck animals, which causes their blood to mix and fall as rain, although it is not very common if it usually happens, experts stated.
With the passage of time the “rain of blood of Bagadó” has become a urban legend of Chocó that draws attention to whether the events really happened and whether the causes of them were really a divine warning or simply a natural phenomenon.
