Recipe for Dulce de Icacos or Hicacos

Ingredients
- 1 kilo from Icacos or Hicacos
- 1 cinnamon bark
- 15 Cloves
- 6 lemons
- ½ kilo of sugar
- 2 liters of water
Step by step preparation
- The first thing you should do is remove the skin from the fruit; To do this, we make a cross-shaped incision at the ends of the icaco, then we submerge them in a plastic container and add the juice of 4 lemons, letting them soak for 2 hours, after which it is very easy to remove the skin.
- Después procede a colocar en una olla 2 litros de agua, el medio kilo de azúcar, la canela, los clavos de olor y dejamos reducir a la mitad, luego agregamos los icacos pelados, el colorante vegetal y 2 limones cortados en cruz, dejando cocinar hasta que se forme un almíbar denso y la fruta esté en su punto.
- Y listo, así de fácil podrá preparar un rico dulce de icaco.
