The Cumare Festival is a festivity held in the municipality of Cumaribo in the Department of Vichada, the event seeks to pay tribute to the ancestral tradition of the Vichadenses, traditions sustained in the cultural wealth of the indigenous ethnic groups of the region and in the llanera culture.

What date is the Cumare Festival held?

The Festival takes place every year, at the end of the second week of November, although these dates may vary depending on the provisions of the festival organizers.

What activities are carried out during the Indigenous Cultural Festival and Reinado del Cumare?

The Festival has a very varied agenda that features cultural activities such as aboriginal dances, including the cacho deer, jalecumá and chipi chipi; samples of crafts and gastronomy of vichada.

Cultural exhibitions and contests typical of the llanera culture are also held, such as the unpublished poem, strong song and passage, dance and counterpoint contests; and beauty queen, as well as horseback riding, coleus days, in the same way concerts are held with national and international artists, these and other activities make this Festival a great event that attracts many visitors.

The Festival has grown over the years, becoming an event of great regional recognition, which is why on those dates friends and family take the event as an excuse to return to Vichada and participate in it.
