The legend of the charm of Punta de Laja is about a city that has been hidden under the enormous stone of the Punta de Laja neighborhood, in the municipality of Puerto Carreño, Vichada, this city has a queen with the ability to transform into a tonina.

According to legend, a man named Juan Reyes, who lived in the Bita hill and who had a large number of dogs for company, used to tell that under the large stone that is in the Punta de Laja neighborhood there was a hidden tunnel that led to a mysterious hidden city.

This city has a queen named Rosita, when she leaves the city towards the surface she transforms into a tonina (pink dolphin) and can be identified because she has a white mole on the back of her neck, when she does not want the fishermen to fish. She resorts to all kinds of tricks to not let them fish, she removes their meshes, she scares them with splashing in the water, when the fishermen identify her they immediately leave.

It is said that the only person who has seen her lives in San Fernando de Apure (Venezuela) and is a man named Pedro Barrios, who says that he was in that charming city because of Rosita.

Origin of the legend of the charm of Punta de Laja

This legend has its origin in the Vichada fishing sector, and in the myths that say that dolphins (pink dolphins) usually turn into humans to do all kinds of pranks.
