Stewed fish recipe
The Stewed fish es un delicioso plato muy popular en la costa colombiana, este plato puede prepararse a base de distintos peces como róbalo, pargo rojo, sábalo, entre otros. Aquí aprenderás a preparar el Pescado guisado paso a paso y de forma rápida y sencilla.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds fish fillet (bass, red snapper, tarpon, croaker or hake, among others)
- 1 cup of big onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 sweet chili peppers
- ½ cup of red paprika
- 2 mature tomatoes
- 2 cups of coconut milk
- 2 cup of milk or heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 4 tablespoons of wheat flour
- 8 tablespoons of oil
Step by step preparation
- First of all, the ingredients must be prepared, the fish must be washed well and then cut into 4 proportional pieces, then salt, pepper and lemon juice must be used to marinate the fish pieces.
- Then the fish cuts are dipped in wheat flour and sautéed in 3 tablespoons of oil and set aside.
- The big onion, garlic, sweet peppers, paprika and tomatoes must be chopped into small pieces.
- Then in a frying pan with the rest of the oil, sauté the onion, garlic, sweet chili and paprika until you begin to notice that the first one becomes transparent. At that point you should add the tomato, let everything cook for 5 minutes and add the coconut milk, milk or cream, salt and pepper to taste.
- Then proceed to add the fish pieces to the sauce and let them cook over low heat for 5 or 6 minutes.
Interesting Facts
- This dish is usually served regularly accompanied by patacón pilao.
- Because the fish cannot be cooked for a long time or reheated, it is best to prepare the sauce in advance and store it in the refrigerator for when you are ready to prepare the recipe.
