Mahates Anthem Lyrics
Chorus:
An ancient corner of legend
That in its wake history forged
Conquered by Pedro de Heredia
That the district of Mahates founded.
Yo
At first Cipacua and Cambayo
Legendary enemy bosses
Of the Caribbean race born
and difficult to subjugate
Then the conquering troops submerged
To the people between tears and pain
In the name of the royal crown
The advance man fulfills his mission
Depending on a distant kingdom
Every rebel knew its rigor.
(Chorus)
II
It was the house of Simón Bolívar
In his search for freedom
Our story proudly tells
Here was the great general
Who later fought without measure
Until the revolution occurred
The chains ceased their wrath
The new nation rises in joy
A debt that screams inspires
A thank you and a long live the liberator.
(Chorus)
III
Santa Cruz sugar empire
The Colombia central and the canal
They have marked a great path
In the life of the population
The strength and dedication was approved
Wealth of a soil of man
Value and so on in times to come
We will be pioneers used by God
Because this is how the man of this soil is
Brave, warrior, word of honor.
