The Symbols of the Department of Bolívar are:
Flag of the Department of Bolívar:
It is a tricolor pavilion with a horizontal layout. The color yellow symbolizes wealth and abundance, which represents the historical value and economic support of the department, green is a symbol of hope for the future, red symbolizes courage and courage, and represents blood of patriots spilled in times of war.
Coat of arms of the Department of Bolívar:
The shield has a modern French heraldic shape, that is, square with a small appendage in the lower middle part. It is crowned by a goshawk (Bird: similar to the hawk) with an olive garland in its beak, which rests on the shield and a motto that translates "Ab Ordine Libertas" "From order, comes freedom", and it is adorned with a lambrequin (Ornaments or ornaments) with a shape similar to acanthus leaves. It is divided into three parts:
First Division: it is a golden field occupied by a coconut palm. The coconut palm is a distinctive feature of the Caribbean. The color of the field represents gold and the wealth of the land, while the palm tree symbolizes stability, fertility and love of heroic enterprises. (Read Also: Symbols of Barranco de Loba)
Second Division: it is a field of gules, with five silver Solidus placed in sotuer. Gules (or red) represents courage, honor, fire, and victory, and also loyalty to the country. The color of the coins was supposed to be silver, representing purity, faith and obedience, but they are now shown in gold or gilt, probably to suppress their sense of obedience and loyalty to the Crown.
Third Division: It is an azure field with an undulating sea loaded by a saber ship. The azure (or blue) is an allusion to the water and the Caribbean Sea that is an integral part of the department, as well as alludes to its hydrological diversity, since the department is bathed by many important rivers and contains a large number of swamps and lakes. This color symbolizes air, and the qualities of justice, obedience, loyalty, piety and prudence.
Anthem of the Department of Bolívar:
The lyrics of the Anthem are a poem by maestro Donado Bossa Herazo, published in 1994 and the music is thanks to Luis Eduardo González.
Chorus
Bolívar your sacred land
our patriotic blood paid
and the waves of the sea eased
of the torture the tremendous pain.
Yo
To Bolívar beloved land
we worship with noble passion
and we fight without pause and with vigor
for his peace, his justice and his love.
To your great insignia we watch
with intrepid desire for creation
Yellow, green and red
The colors of your pavilion.
(chorus)
II
Of Bolívar the glorious name
shows us paths of honor
and we face the days of the future
with pride, courage and ardor.
Our mountains are historical landmarks
our rivers of development and blazon
our great cities and towns
the treasure that a chest keeps.
(chorus)
