Caño Juriepe is a sabanero or highland river, “currently” famous for its ichthyological wealth (fish), especially for those species of fish suitable for sport fishing.

This river is born in the savannahs of lower Vichada and flows into the Meta River; It is a small natural refuge where species such as babillas, caimans, howler monkeys, stink turkeys, strawberries and terecay turtles live.

The greatest attraction of Caño Juriepe is the possibility of practicing sport fishing for tucunares or peacocks, payaras, striped catfish and other species of fish popular for this practice.
