Biography
Henry Castillo is a Colombian theater, film, and television actor, born in Cali. He is recognized for his participation in productions such as Golpe de Estadio, Diástole y Sístole, Pena Máxima, El Baile de la Vida, among others.

Castillo was part of Vanguardia, the experimental theater group of Cali (TEC). Beyond acting, he has built a distinguished career in linguistics. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Linguistics (with honors) from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Master’s degree in Performance Studies from New York University. He is also a doctoral student in the Department of Performance Studies at NYU and has taken courses in Theater and Television Production in the United States.
His studies and research have focused on themes such as Afro-Colombian heritage performances and practices, memory and intangible cultural heritage of the Americas, Black identity in Latin America, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, and women.

He also collaborates with the Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics as a digital book editorial assistant. Henry Castillo was married to actress Magali Caicedo. He currently lives in the United States.
