Leticia Palacio

Biography

Leticia Palacio is a distinguished Colombian actress, voice artist, and singer, with a long career in radio, theater, and television. She is recognized for her participation in productions such as Kalimán, Simplemente María, Los Cuervos, Flor de Invierno, Luzbel Está de Visita, among others.

Artistic Career

Her artistic life began at the early age of nine, after participating with her sister Lidia in an amateur singing contest in Medellín. Carlos Saldarriaga, the program’s director, asked who wanted to join the children’s cast of a radio drama for RCN, and without hesitation she volunteered. For 26 years she worked in radio dramas and as an announcer for renowned radio networks such as Todelar, Radio Sutatenza, Radio Nacional, Caracol, RCN, among others, participating in more than two thousand radio productions.

Her beautiful and versatile voice has been considered one of the most remarkable in Colombian radio, with which she portrayed countless characters: from leading roles to children, witches, nuns, villains, and many more. She also worked as a news and entertainment announcer, as well as hosting various radio programs such as Contrapunto Femenino, Solución a su Problema, and Caracol en la Tierra de Caracol, the latter aimed at Colombia’s rural communities.

Alongside her radio work, she performed café concerts across the country, combining witty comedy with singing and dancing. She also took part in numerous theatrical plays, including Pantaleón y las Visitadoras and La Zapatera Prodigiosa.

Television was also a fundamental part of her career. She played various roles while still working in radio, and when radio dramas were replaced by television, she successfully consolidated her career in this medium, standing out in telenovelas such as Los Cuervos, Flor de Invierno, and Luzbel Está de Visita, among others.

Personal Life

She was married to Jaime Calero Barona, a sound technician at Caracol, and is the mother of four children.
