Recipe for Minced Fish or Fish Salpicón (Minced Fish)
El salpicón de pescado desmenuzado (Minced Fish) es una muestra gastronómica muy popular en el caribe, este plato es muy popular en zonas como San Andrés, es un plato generalmente hecho de diferentes carnes de pescado, cortados en partes pequeñas o desmenuzados y se sirve frío. Aprende en esta sencilla receta como hacer un rico Minced Fish de forma fácil y rápida.
Ingredients
- 2 Kilos of fish (different kinds, example: old wife, bonito or barracuda)
- 250 grain red onion
- 1 head of garlic
- 175 grams paprika
- 175 grams ripe tomato
- 500 grams celery
- Coconut milk
- 15 grams basil
- 15 grams pepper
- 15 grams oregano
- 100 grams butter
- Salt
Step by step preparation
- First you must prepare the ingredients, washing each one well, and chopping those that need it, such as paprika, tomato, onion and garlic.
- After having all the ingredients ready and well organized, we proceed to cook the fish in a good amount of water. Once it has been cooked, remove it from the heat, drain it and shred the meat.
- Boil the coconut milk, add salt, basil, pepper and oregano. Make sure the milk does not rise during cooking.
- Separately, start making a sauce with the butter, adding the tomato, onion and paprika, then proceed to add it to the coconut milk, let it boil for around 5 minutes.
- Then add the shredded fish and let it cook for about 15 minutes over low heat.
- And ready, it is served with the accompaniment of your choice.
