Biography
Betty Valderrama was a Colombian actress of television, radio, and theater, born in Girardota, Antioquia, on July 2, 1936. She was recognized for her roles in productions such as La Viuda de Blanco and El Caballero de Rauzán.
She studied up to the fourth year of high school and, without completing her degree, managed to pursue two years of Law at the Universidad Libre de Colombia in Bogotá. Her television debut came in 1954, marking the beginning of a long and respected career.

Betty was married to fellow actor Enrique Pontón, with whom she had a son, Carlos Pontón, who also pursued a career in acting and voice dubbing.
On March 11, 1994, she suffered a pre-heart attack before the premiere of the play La Leyenda del Beso at the Teatro Colsubsidio. She was taken to the Clínica de Cajanal in Bogotá, where she showed slight improvement and even requested not to be removed from the play, as she wished to continue performing. Sadly, she passed away that Saturday afternoon.
Valderrama is remembered as a passionate actress whose dedication to her craft remained unwavering until her final days.
