Ingredients
- 1 cup white corn flour (precooked)
- 1 cup of water
- Sugar
- Anise
- Salt
- Cinnamon (ground)
- Cooking oil for frying
Step by step preparation
- The first thing you should do is place the corn flour in a container, add a teaspoon of salt, a teaspoon of sugar and a tablespoon of anise, dry mix everything, then add the cinnamon powder.
- Then you will add warm water and a splash of oil. Proceed to knead the mixture very well, once the dough is ready, let it rest for a moment.
- Next, you will proceed to assemble the arepitas, forming 6 balls with the dough and then on a previously greased piece of plastic, shape them by flattening them with your hands and making a hole in the center.
- Then place the oil to heat, once it is very hot proceed to fry the arepitas, you must leave them until they are golden brown.
- It is recommended that after frying them, drain the fat on a napkin or absorbent paper.
