Biography
Gilberto Puentes Corredor was a Colombian theater and television actor, born in Moniquirá, Boyacá, on June 6, 1938. He was recognized for productions such as Tuyo es mi Corazón, El Virrey Solís, La Marquesa de Yolombó, Lejano Azul, among others.

Puentes settled in Bogotá to study law at the Universidad Libre. When television arrived in Colombia, he became interested in acting. Like many actors of the time, he began his career in radio dramas before moving into television, where he became one of the notable actors of his era. He was also the uncle of fellow actor Antonio Puentes.
Gilberto Puentes passed away on September 5, 1997, after losing his battle with cancer.
