Jugo de Guineo (Spiced Banana Smoothie)
A creamy, spiced Colombian banana smoothie! Made with very ripe bananas, cinnamon-infused milk, vanilla, and nutmeg.
Ingredients
- 6 Very ripe bananas (guineos)
- 1 ½ Liters Milk Alternative: 2 cups powdered milk mixed with water
- ½ lb Sugar approx. 1 cup
- ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg
- Cinnamon sticks
- Crushed ice
Instructions
- Infuse the milk: Place the milk and cinnamon sticks in a pot and bring to a boil. As soon as it reaches the very first boil, remove the pot from the heat and let the liquid cool completely.
- Blend the base: Once the infused milk is cool, remove and discard the cinnamon sticks. Peel the bananas, slice them into smaller pieces, and add them to a blender. Pour in the infused milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and nutmeg. Blend everything together until perfectly smooth and creamy.
- Chill and serve: Add the crushed ice to the blender and pulse a few times for a frosty texture, or simply serve the freshly blended juice directly in glasses over ice!
