Light painting is not something new, in fact, it is more than 100 years old, but in Colombia it is still very little known and practiced; The physiogram or painting with light as this photographic technique is also known consists of the creation of photographs from the use of elements that generate light within spaces with little light.

The Pereira photographer Ricardo Diosa Muñoz is one of the great enthusiasts of this photographic technique and has dedicated his professional life to the exhibition and promotion of this art. Ricardo studied photography in Spain, a country to which he emigrated once he finished his secondary studies in Colombia. In this he has managed to hold 5 important exhibitions in the company of his colleagues Rafael de la Sierra and Andrés Cortegana; In addition to having participated in the “Santander is Light” project on the occasion of the International Day of Light.

Diosa muñoz is passionate about light painting, as he himself says: “For me it is something more than a photographic technique, it is something more than creativity, for me; It is being connected with all my senses, it is capturing an idea in your photography, it is freedom when creating, it is generating in my soul that feeling of happiness, of mental health, the word that would best define what I feel about light painting. It’s mental magic.” Sustains Muñoz

The passion for this art has brought him back to Colombia with a project called “Colombia is Light” with which he aims to make this technique known in greater depth in the country and provide spaces for new artists to emerge in this discipline.

The requirements to be able to participate in this project is basically to have the enthusiasm of wanting to try something new, since as he himself says, all you need is passion and a photographic bed of any denomination, even a cell phone, is viable to be able to practice this technique.

Ricardo is currently looking for those passionate people who want to be part of his project. If you are one of them, we invite you to contact him via WhatsApp at the number +34 689 153404.
