The Raudal de Atures or the “atures rapids” are considered the widest rapids in the world with about 13 km; These are located in Puerto Carreño, capital of Vichada.

The route through these rapids is around 10 km along the Orinoco River, from Casuarito to Garcitas; The route has been divided into different sections to more easily identify the route, these are: Carrizal, Macondo, Yabariven, Bocas del Mesetas, Chorros de León, Chorros de Gavilán, Palomazón and Punta de Cerro.

What activities can be done in the Atures Rapids?

In addition to being able to explore the rapids either by kayak or canoe, you can do other activities such as; The sighting of rock art or pictograms found on rocky outcrops; observation of aquatic fauna and observation of water falls that exceed 4 m in height.

The Raudal or Rápidos de Atures is located near Cazuarito, district of Puerto Carreño, Vichada, on the border with the sister republic of Venezuela.
