Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound wheat flour
  • 1 cup coconut milk or water
  • baking powder

Step by step preparation
 

  • Mix the flour and baking powder and add the coconut milk or water to form a dough, it should be firm and not sticky.
  • With your hands, they are shaped into a ball and flattened (depending on the type of preparation, they will be flattened or rolled into rolls).
  • They are added to the cooking of the dish you are making according to the recipe.
  • If what you want is to create the dumplings individually and not as part of another recipe, you can add salt during the process, leave them in the shape of balls and fry them in oil until golden.

Interesting Facts

  • There are two ideal sizes for dumplings depending on the type of recipe in which they will be used, if the recipe is a rondón or similar dishes use large dumplings. If the recipe is crab soup, stewed snail or similar, small dumplings also called “Drop Dumplings” are used. For this purpose, you should avoid using baking powder and instead of leaving them as pancakes, you should make them in the shape of rolls.
  • In the most traditional preparation of the recipe, bitter cassava flour was used, currently common cassava can be used (for one pound of cassava, add a teaspoon of baking powder, a pinch of salt and a tablespoon of wheat flour).
