Biography
Marisol Correa is a Colombian actress and comedian of theater and television, born in Bogotá. She is recognized for productions such as Dejémonos de Vainas, Quieta Margarita, Destinos Cruzados, among others, as well as for stage performances like Las Mujeres son de Venus y Los Hombres son de Madre and Milagros de Bergamota.

She made her debut at an early age in Colombian television after a director discovered her in the hallway of Inravisión and offered her her first role. However, she had already appeared as an extra in many programs since her father, Samuel Correa, was a technician at Inravisión and often took her to the set after school. Thanks to her charisma and talent, she participated in several successful national productions.
Marisol studied Psychology at the Universidad Santo Tomás de Aquino. She also trained in voice at the Teatro Libre de Bogotá, body expression at the Escuela del Distrito, body workshops at Teatro La Baranda, and clown at the Teatro Popular de Bogotá (TPB). She graduated from the first class of the acting laboratory at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and holds a postgraduate degree in Film and Television from the Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano.
In 2000, she decided to step away from television and moved to Miami, where she continued working as a programming distributor for Centauro Vista, filmmaker Gustavo Nieto’s company. She also participated in radio programs for Caracol 1260 AM and remained active in theater with independent groups and organizations she co-founded, such as TIM (Teatro Internacional de Miami), Arte y Parte, Teatro Para Todos, El Bar de Teatro Para Todos, Catarsis, and Teatro Trail. On television, she collaborated with local channels América TeVe and La Mega Canal 22. She also created CACHE (Centro de Arte Cultura Hispano y Educativo) at Miami Dade College, North Campus, to promote the arts.

Marisol Correa is the first Colombian woman to create and direct a theater in the United States. She currently serves as the director of Teatro Trail and is one of Miami’s most recognized cultural promoters. She received the Keys to the City of Miami, awarded by Mayor Manuel (Manny) Díaz, for economically revitalizing the area of 8th Avenue through theater.
