Biography
Ronald Ayazo is a distinguished Colombian theater and television actor, born in Montería on December 7, 1944. He is recognized as one of the great figures of Colombian television, remembered for productions such as El Caballero de Rauzán, El Cazador Nocturno, La Pezuña del Diablo, La Saga: Negocio de Familia, among others.

His father was a merchant and his mother a homemaker. At an early age, his family moved to Medellín, where he studied as a boarder at Colegio Clodomiro Ramírez and lived for 20 years. He is related to Alejandro Ramírez Ayazo, creator of the famous porro María Varilla.
During the 1960s, he stood out as a radio drama actor at Toledar and Caracol Radio, participating in productions such as El Justo, Kalimán, and adaptations like Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment. He later left radio dramas to pursue new opportunities in Bogotá, where he lived for 42 years. His first chance in television came thanks to actress Dora Cadavid, who was impressed by his talent and invited him to work in TV. His debut role was a minor part as a miner, before moving on to leading roles.
Thanks to his talent, Ayazo gained wide recognition as one of the great actors of his era. In the mid-1990s, he temporarily retired from television, later returning in La Saga: Negocio de Familia and other productions before retiring again.

Ronald Ayazo was married to actress Rosmira Chica, with whom he had two children. Beyond acting and broadcasting, he has also worked as a writer, composer, painter, teacher, and musician. He currently resides in New York, retired from television.
