Dulce de mamey recipe
Dulce de mamey is a delicious delicacy made from a fruit known as “mamey”, in Colombia this sweet is usually widely consumed in departments such as Caldas. Learn here how to prepare Dulce de mamey step by step and quickly and easily.
Ingredients
- 2 mameyes (medium)
- 1 liter of water
- 1 pound of sugar
- 1 lemon
Step by step preparation
- First of all, peel the mameyes; you must make sure to remove the membrane that covers the pulp, so that the sweet does not become bitter.
- Then cut the pulp into small slices and place them in boiling water for a while, then throw away the water and repeat the same operation 3 more times.
- Afterwards, a syrup is prepared with sugar and water and the mamey slices are added, which are allowed to soak to taste.
- Finally, add the lemon juice and that's it.
