Ingredients

  • 12 Arazás Amazonian guavas
  • 1 Liter Water
  • Sugar to taste

Instructions

  • Prep the fruit: The very first step is to thoroughly wash the arazás. Peel the fruits, carefully remove all the seeds, and extract the pure pulp.
  • Blend: Place the extracted fruit pulp into a blender along with the liter of water and sugar to your liking. Blend on high until completely smooth.
  • Strain and serve: Pass the blended juice through a fine strainer to ensure a silky texture and remove any missed fibers. Serve immediately over crushed ice and enjoy!

Notes

  • Botanical Profile: The arazá is an Amazonian fruit that visually resembles a small peach. It is widely cultivated and consumed across several Latin American countries, including Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Venezuela, and Ecuador.
  • Alternative Names: Because of its broad geographical spread across the Amazon basin, the fruit is also known by several local names, such as Guayaba Amazónica (Amazonian Guava), Guayaba Brasileña (Brazilian Guava), or Guayaba Peruana (Peruvian Guava).
  • Cocktail Variation: If you want to transform this fresh juice into a delicious alcoholic beverage, you can easily stir in a splash of Cachaça (a traditional Brazilian sugarcane spirit) right before serving.
