Jugo de Mandarina (Tangerine Juice)
The ultimate refreshing citrus drink! Sweet and juicy tangerine juice prepared in the traditional Colombian style.
Ingredients
- 10 Tangerines
- Water
- Sugar to taste
- Ice
Instructions
- Prep the fruit: The very first and most important step is to completely peel the tangerines. You must carefully remove all the seeds and pull off the white fibrous threads that surround the segments to prevent the juice from becoming bitter.
- Blend the juice: Place the clean tangerine segments directly into a blender. Add enough water to reach your desired consistency and sugar to your personal taste. Blend on high until completely smooth. (Chef's Hack: If you prefer a more traditional, pulp-free method without the blender, you can simply slice the tangerines in half, squeeze the juice manually into a pitcher, and stir in the sugar!)
- Serve: Serve immediately in tall glasses over plenty of ice. This juice is always best enjoyed ice-cold!
Notes
- Immune Booster: Tangerines are incredibly rich in Vitamin C, which is vital for strengthening the immune system and actively protecting the body against illnesses.
- Skin Health: The high concentration of natural antioxidants in this citrus fruit helps protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals, keeping it radiant and healthy.
- Heart Protection: Tangerines contain powerful flavonoids and other compounds that can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease by lowering inflammation and improving overall blood vessel health.
- Antimicrobial Properties: This fruit possesses natural antimicrobial properties that help prevent wound infections and actively fight off viruses, fungi, and bacterial infections!
