Biography
Mateo Stivel is a Colombian director, writer, and actor of film and television, born in Bogotá in 1983. He is recognized for productions such as La Esclava Blanca, El Man del Porno, and Las Villamizar, among others.
He is the son of renowned actress María Cecilia Botero and the late director and writer David Stivel. He is also the nephew of actresses Ana Cristina Botero and Hilda Botero, actor Oscar Botero, and grandson of director and producer Jaime Botero.

His interest in audiovisual media began at an early age, growing up surrounded by the performing arts. His first television appearance came just months after his birth, when he appeared with his mother in an institutional commercial about breastfeeding. As a child actor, he participated in the series Conjunto Cerrado.
Stivel studied film directing at the Universidad del Cine in Argentina, where he worked on the short film Miradas. After returning to Colombia, he contributed to several television and film productions. In 2015, he directed his first feature film, La Rectora, followed by his second in 2018, El Man del Porno.
He has established himself as a versatile creator, bridging acting, writing, and directing, and continuing the artistic legacy of the Botero-Stivel family.
