Biography
María Cecilia Botero is a Colombian actress of film, theater, and television, born in Medellín on May 13, 1955. She has also worked as a presenter, journalist, and producer.

She made her debut in 1971 with El Fantasma de Canterville, and since then has continuously participated in a wide variety of productions across cinema, television, theater, and entertainment. Among her most emblematic works are Caballo Viejo, Mi Sangre, Aunque Plebeya, Música Maestro, Nuevo Rico, Nuevo Pobre, and Disney’s Encanto, among many others.
Botero has been immersed in the world of entertainment from a young age, being the daughter of renowned Colombian television director Jaime Botero. Her siblings Ana Cristina Botero, Hilda Botero, and Oscar Botero also pursued acting careers. She is the aunt of actor Santiago Botero and the niece of iconic actress Dora Cadavid.
In 1982, she married Argentine writer, producer, and director David Stivel, who has since passed away. Together they had a son, Mateo Stivelberg, who has also built a career as a director and actor.
